Sharp® Leads Cooking Revolution with Superheated Steam that Grills
New Superheated Steam Countertop Oven Redefining How Americans Cook

MONTVALE, N.J., March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Home Electronics Company of America (SHCA) today announced the shipping of its first Superheated Steam Countertop Oven – model SSC0586DS – which combines superheated steam and conventional, radiant heat in all cooking modes. This combination allows consumers to cook food that is both crispy and browned on the outside while remaining juicy, tender and delicious on the inside. The Superheated Steam Countertop Oven is a first-of-its-kind powerful, low-profile, pizzeria style, countertop oven capable of cooking entire sheet-pan meals and personal pizzas to crispy perfection with superheated steam.

Sharp's new Superheated Steam Countertop Oven (SSC0586DS) joins Sharp's successful, premium built-in SuperSteam+TM wall oven (SSC3088AS) to offer customers a wide range of powerful cooking features at accessible price points.

"Sharp is extremely proud to help make the benefits of superheated steam cooking more accessible than ever by bringing them to kitchen countertops across America," said Jim Sanduski, President, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. "The ability to package this innovative technology into a countertop solution at this price point has made this our most important entry into the small appliance category yet, bringing us one step closer to reaching our collective goal of bringing superheated steam to everyone."

Benefits of Cooking with Sharp's Superheated Steam
The Sharp Superheated Steam Countertop Oven can cook food using a combination of radiant heat and superheated steam vapor to reach browning temperatures. Cooking with steam allows food to retain their authentic flavors and texture. With five included cooking modes (Toast, Warm, Pizza, Bake/Reheat and Broil/Grill), the possibilities for nourishing and tasty creations are limitless.

For example, proteins like chicken and salmon cook at browning temperatures to a crispy texture on the outside and remain moist, tender and flavorful on the inside. Most interestingly, the Superheated Steam Countertop Oven takes fresh and frozen pizza to the next level. As a result of the extremely hot temperatures superheated steam is able to reach and conduct, 12-inch pizzas are cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust, melty cheese and a fresh-from-the-oven texture and aroma.

"Sharp remains dedicated to making healthy cooking at home a fun and positive experience for everyone," said Peter Weedfald, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. "With our new Superheated Steam Countertop Oven, we're showing our commitment to Simply Better Living with a revolutionary new product that is simple to use, better than the competition and creates great-tasting meals for a modern, fast-paced, healthy lifestyle."

The Leader in Superheated Steam Cooking
The Sharp Superheated Steam Countertop Oven features instant-on and is ready to cook, no preheating or defrosting necessary, saving valuable time. Its large, 12.5"x12.5" broiling pan is 39% bigger than a standard quarter-size sheet pan, and the low-profile keeps the heating elements closer to food so it can quickly and easily cook a sheet-pan dinner for the entire family without heating up a full-size oven.

With an easy-to-reach, easy-to-refill 6.8 fl. oz. water tank that is good for up to 60 minutes of cooking, the Sharp Superheated Steam Countertop Oven's 13.8"x4.6"x14.1" cavity is spacious enough to make up to nine slices of toast or fit a 12-inch pizza without the mess. Consumers will find the clean-up process to be a breeze, as the Sharp Superheated Steam Countertop Oven features a hidden baking element beneath the flat oven floor that wipes clean, and an easy to remove, drip tray that rinses clean.

Key Features and Benefits: Sharp's Superheated Steam Countertop Oven SSC0586DS
