Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) joins Sharp Business Systems for a Cybersecurity Protection Event in Los Angeles
Montvale, NJ, November 13, 2019 – Sharp Business Systems, the direct sales division of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, hosted a unique event to help educate the Southern California business community on strategies to protect themselves from the growing threat of cybersecurity crimes.
According to a recent study commissioned by Continuum, in the past two years, approximately 64% of small and medium businesses were affected by cybercrime. To help combat this issue, Sharp invited businesses in the region to learn how they can more effectively identify their vulnerabilities and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
This event was co-hosted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Cyber Crimes Task Force and featured a Q&A with FBI Special Agent Chade Bandhu. Both Sharp’s and the FBI’s insight into cybersecurity trends provided attendees with valuable information that could save them from falling victim to a cyberattack.
The customer service focused event, titled “IT After Hours: A Conversation with the FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force,” took place at The Proud Bird Food Bazaar & Events Center in Los Angeles on November 12th. Afterwards, there was a lively and engaging Q&A session with the FBI, dinner and social hour. The event was organized by Mark Vedel, the Los Angeles area Managed Network Services Specialist for Sharp Business Systems in the region.
“In today’s landscape, business leaders and employees of all levels should be aware of cyberthreats to their organization, in order to protect themselves and their information,” said Dale Wedge, Southern California Branch President, Sharp Business Systems. “As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, business leaders need to stay ahead of the curve. We’re confident the local business community will benefit greatly from this event and become further educated on ways to better protect their information.”
