Sharp Launches New A4 Monochrome Multifunction Printers

New Series of A4 MFPs offer faster print speeds, an enhanced user experience and the latest
security features in a compact design

MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) announces two new A4 monochrome multifunction printers (MFPs) designed for businesses and educational institutions that want the function of a larger monochrome MFP in a smaller footprint.

The BP-B540WR and BP-B550WD letter/legal size MFPs feature faster print speeds, an enhanced user experience and a compact design that includes many of the leading features of Sharp's existing workgroup A3 MFPs. The BP-B540WR offers print speeds of up to 40 pages per minute and features a reversing single pass feeder. The BP-B550WD offers print speeds of up to 50 pages per minute and features a duplexing single pass feeder. Both models include a 7" (diagonal) capacitive touchscreen that offers a user-friendly, graphical interface with simplified easy modes and Sharp OSA 6.0 compatibility for a more fluid, intuitive work experience.

Built on the same platform as Sharp's workgroup A3 MFPs, these models feature similar, robust security features, such as a standard system integrity check at startup, firmware attack prevention, allowlisting and optional antivirus protection powered by Bitdefender®.

These new models also offer many of the standard features and connectivity of predecessor models that enable office workers to collaborate with colleagues seamlessly and securely in the cloud, even when they are working remotely, such as Microsoft Teams, Google Drive™, Dropbox and others. Additionally, Active Directory integration, OCR scanning, cloud connect, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print all come standard and enable clients to easily manage workflow from PCs, smartphones and tablets.

"Sharp continues to grow our A4 product offerings by introducing models that share productive workflow features with our A3 product line, enabling clients to easily operate any Sharp multifunction device," says Shane Coffey, VP, Product Management, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. "These new models bring advanced integration and powerful efficiency right into your workplace or home office, allowing teams to remain productive while helping to keep their information and documents secure."

The new models, which replace the previous MX-B376WH and B476WH models, are available to order immediately and can be purchased directly through Sharp or through an authorized Sharp dealer.
